Stratusfaction Guaranteed

After mentioning a bit of Rule 5 in my News entries over on my Rant Blog, I have decided to go headlong into my first Rule 5 post. After thinking about all of the lovely ladies to put fingers to keyboard about, I decided to put out a little Stratusfaction for my first foray.

As many of you know, I am a wrestling fan, and last night on WWE Monday night RAW they had announced a third inductee to the WWE Hall of Fame. Who better to be inducted than Trish Stratus, real name Patricia Anne Stratigias, seven time WWE Women’s Champion? Trish joins other lovely WWE Divas (“The Fabulous Moolah” Lillian Ellison, Mae Young, “Sensational” Sherri Martel, Sunny, and Wendi Richter) as the only ones enshrined in the Hall of Fame. Her wrestling career started March 19, 2000 and she retired from regular in-ring competition September 17, 2006.

She had initially wanted to be a doctor but a 1997 professor’s strike at York University in Canada had put those dreams on hold. However, when one door closed another one opens, and she turned to modeling after being approached by the publisher of MuscleMag while she was a receptionist at a gym. She later appeared on the cover of the May 1998 issue and was signed to a two year contract. For the next six months, she worked on her body and appeared on numerous magazine covers. She had been a wrestling fan since childhood and her modeling work was noticed by the WWE (when it was known as the World Wrestling Federation, or WWF). In November 1999 she was signed to a multi-year contract and was sent to Sully’s Gym where she was trained by Ron Hutchinson.

In March 2000 she began her first role in the WWE using the name Trish Stratus as the valet of Test and Prince Albert (who were known as T&A) after appearing on the stage during Sunday Night Heat the day before when she was assessing WWE Superstars. It was during her time as manager of T&A that she received her first major ring bump from The Dudley Boyz when they drove her through the table. She first saw in-ring action in a 6-person tag team match on the June 22 taping of Smackdown when she joined T&A against the Hardy Boyz and Lita. That match led to a feud between Trish and Lita which lasted throughout the year.

She began wrestling part-time in 2001 after WrestleMania X-Seven and joined Lita against Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson in a tag team match at InVasion. She first tasted WWE Women’s gold at Survivor Series on November 18, 2001 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. She would go on to win the WWE Women’s title 6 more times as well as the WWE Hardcore Championship once.

After her retirement from full time competition, she would return to the ring now and then to wrestle and also in a few backstage skits. One of her memorable post-retirement appearances happened at WrestleMania XXVII, where she and her team of Snooki and Morrison beat the team of Dolph Ziggler and LayCool, which is made up of Layla El and Michelle McCool. Her most recent appearance on WWE TV was July 23, 2012, when she appeared on Raw's 1000 episode in a backstage segment with D-Generation X. She was teaching Triple H a few yoga moves and Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg Jesse James, and the other members of DX came in and created a rather embarrassing moment.

Outside of the squared circle, Stratus is involved in Yoga and in fact owns a studio in Toronto, Canada, called “Stratusphere” and billed as "Canada's largest eco-friendly yoga studio".

Congratulations to Trish Stratus, 2013 inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame!

Once again Todd Kincannon put fingers to keyboard and came up with 7 tips to help many escape the pitfall that is the #TwitterGulag.

He also provided some sound advice as well.

The 2012 Blogger Awards

Over the past couple of weeks, I had noticed a few bloggers (MareZilla and  Doug Ross of Director Blue for example) put out the 2012 Blogger Awards, and while I know my three political blogs (this Conservative Blog, my Rant blog, and my Radio show blog) had not even made the radar of many Conservative bloggers until about a month ago or so, when I started participating in the Full Metal Jacket Reach Around on The Other McCain and started linking to some of the articles on Hogewash about #BrettKimberlin, I am slowly making my name known on the Internet. Granted I have my radio show and many people had tweeted and even mentioned it now and then but I had kept a low profile. However, it is not enough.

I now realize that more is needed, especially with Obama stealing the Presidential Election on November 6, 2012, thereby assuring him 4 more years and also hearing that Jose Serrano of New York had proposed H.J. 15 in which he is “proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”[1] I realize that there is no more sitting on the sidelines, no more sitting on the fence, in this battle for America. We are either for the defense of America or we are for the fundamental transformation of America under Obama. In 2013, I am going to be blogging more often about the dangers that Obama and his sycophants in the Senate and House are unleashing on the country and also keep closer tabs on both the Congress AND the President.

And while impeaching is possible, I think it is improbable and unwise. The reason for that is because the House can bring up the impeachment charges against Obama all they want, but we all know the Senate is the one who tries the impeachment (with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding) and brings down the verdict. As the Senate holds the majority in the Senate AND it takes 67 of the Senators to render a verdict of guilty, it is next to impossible to make the charges stick. So all we have to do is get a hold of our Representatives and Senators WEEKLY (if not DAILY) and tell them where we stand on various issues which come up.

While the two pictures I had posted above were for those who did not actually win any of the blog awards those two sites had put out, I feel like I am slowly becoming a part of the Conservative Blogging community. If I win an award in 2013 or even if I don’t win, one thing I will do is make people sit up and take notice that I am here to stay. After all, I am here to prove that owning the narrative is not just a fancy saying but a way of life.

[1]For the record, Serrano had proposed the same thing in the 112th Congress as well and it did not leave the Judiciary Committee.

What is #TGDN?

So last night I had seen the hashtag #TGDN floating about and was wondering about it. Luckily I was not the only one as Danielle Saul was also wondering the same thing. Our friend Becca Lower had piqued our interest with the following tweet:

And then it turns out that Todd Kincannon started the #TGDN with the following tweets:

If you are not following Todd Kincannon, do so. You can also read more about #TGDN from the following bloggers:

As I had mentioned in my 42nd rant #TwitterGulag has ties to Brett Kimberlin (aka the Speedway Bomber) and this is one way we as conservative bloggers and even twitterers can thwart him and other liberals. Let all help Mr. Kincannon and join the #TGDN to help shut down the #TwitterGulag once and for all or (at least) make it irrelevant.
